Fostering Connections St. Johns November 2021 Newsletter

Dear Fostering Connections St. Johns Supporters,

November is National Gratitude Month, celebrating all of the things we are thankful for.

Here at Fostering Connections St. Johns, we celebrate our gratitude for our board members, advisory council members, volunteers, and donors for your support throughout 2021. With your support, we have been able to provide over 150 children and youth in care with needed essentials and educational programming to to help them achieve their goals and plan for their future.

In this newsletter, you will read about a few of the youth we have been able to help. A teen who needed a laptop computer to complete her school assignments. A young girl who though she was ugly because of her hair until she was able to access hair styling services for her ethnic hair. A teen in our Career Readiness Academy program who is receiving an internship stipend while learning about a career in law enforcement. Each child we work with has their own story and journey through foster care. Although we cannot change what has happened in their past, our programs and services provide much needed support with basic needs, education, and postsecondary planning. giving the children and youth we help hope.

There is so much to celebrate during this season of giving!

Due to the Nor'Easterner on November 6, our Foster Friends 5K & Fun Run has been postponed until January 2nd. We thank our Title Sponsor Anderson Realty, and all of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants for your understanding and support as we navigated rescheduling. We look forward to seeing all of our Foster Friends on January 2nd!

We are having our first Foster Friends donor event, Sips and S'More on November 17 to learn S'More about Fostering Connections St. Johns. Fostering Connections St. Johns is the beneficiary of annual Holly Jolly Shopping Spree fundraiser, which will be held on November 20. Learn more about how you can participate in our newsletter.

Our Hospitality Committee has been busy planning the annual Holiday Party for foster families. Stay tuned for more information on sponsoring individual children this year.

How can you celebrate with us during this season of giving?

Thank you for for investing in our youth impacted by foster care or childhood trauma and sharing the spirit of giving all year long. You give each child we support hope and and shining light during a difficult season in their young life.

I hope you and your family have a restful and blessed Thanksgiving, from my family to yours.
