Dear Fostering Connections Family,
We missed seeing all of our families, volunteers, and supporters this past month, as Hurricanes Helene and Milton brought unexpected challenges and caused the cancellation or postponement of several programs and events in October. We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are safe and well. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who suffered from the storms.
As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I want to take a moment to express how grateful we are for each of you—our clients, donors, and community stakeholders. Your continued support and partnership make it possible for us to serve foster and adoptive families throughout our region. We couldn’t do it without you, and for that, we are truly thankful.
Looking ahead, we have some exciting things in store, including our Holiday Drive 2024. This year, we're inviting families we have served throughout 2024 to participate. We have over 100 youth from across our five-county region on our list, and with your help, we can make the holidays brighter for these students and their families. If you’re interested in supporting the drive, now is the perfect time to sign up!
I’m also thrilled to officially announce our reimagined Night of the Arts fundraiser—now called Art of Family: A Celebration of Community & Connection, happening on March 7 at Crosswater Hall. This event will celebrate foster and adoptive families while building stronger community connections and raising critical support for Fostering Connections. Tickets are now on sale, and we have several ways for you to get involved—whether through sponsorship, donating auction items, purchasing tickets or a table, entering our Students & Families Art Contest, or nominating deserving foster and adoptive families, child welfare professionals, advocates, and community champions for special recognition.
We also have several programs and events coming up that we hope you’ll join us for:
Teen Talk at Fellow Earthlings Rage Room – Rescheduled for November 2 from 12-2 p.
Foster/Adoptive Family Meet Up at Myrtle Ave Brewing – November 2 from 5:30-7:30 p
Florida Youth SHINE Chapter Meeting – November 16, 10 a-12 p

You can find more details about these events in this month’s newsletter.
Thank you for your continued engagement and partnership. We look forward to seeing you soon! I wish you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving.
With gratitude,
Aubrie Simpson-Gotham
